biography

I first starting taking photos in my teenage years in my home town of Lowton, Lancashire. Publications such as The Face, Arena, Vogue and i-D found their way into my life and the other-worldly images soon ended up ripped out and plastered onto my northern walls, inspiring my first portraits of my friends and local life.

In London, working in studios and as an assistant to established Portrait photographers such as the wonderful Polly Borland, the quintessential Michael Birt and the legendary Terry O'Neill, I started to find my own style shooting portraits for British Vogue and The Scotsman.

A life-long fascination with movies then pulled me towards those involved and I soon began shooting actors and my new passion for headshots was born.

As well as now being a seasoned and experienced portrait photographer, my forays into cinematography have brought me ever closer to actors and their craft and this has led to me forging a good understanding of what it means to have a quality headshot.
